Who is this?

Palm Sunday marks the day in history when Jesus makes his triumphal entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of Holy Week. He is the central person who the crowds are both cheering and questioning. Using the rich and symbolic imagery of this story, Pastor Jim poses the same question to us today, "Who is this?"  

Following Jesus: No Dead-Ends

For the fifth Sunday of Lent, Pastor Lynn asks if we have come to a dead end. A situation where we see no way out, a problem that cannot be solved, a relationship that cannot be restored. Even when these things happen, we can rely upon the power of the Lord Jesus who is the resurrection and the life. The Savior who delivers us from death, despair, numbness and apathy. The One who brings new life and hope and healing. 

Repentance Through God's Grace

For the fourth Sunday of Lent, Techika encourages us to accept our need for repentance through God's grace. Unlike what we may have heard in the past, God is not condemning us or expecting complete perfection from us. But instead, God offers us loving and life-giving repentance out of God's great love for us. In this way, we are called by God to rethink how we live our lives, interact with others and view the problems of our world. 

Desiring New Life

Pastor Jim preaches on Hannah's desperate need for God and how Lent is a time to desire the wholeness of new life in every aspect of our lives. Hungering for God to be present with us in noticeable ways: as we follow Jesus by carrying our crosses, as we experience resurrection life and as we rely on the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit working within us and through us. 

From Ashes to Fire

For this second Sunday of Lent, Pastor Lynn asks, "Have any ashes in your life? How about the fire of the Holy Spirit?" The first disciples rose from the ashes of disappointment and failure to change the world because they were on fire with love and faith. Listen now to how faith opens the door to the future.  

Believe

In this message, Min. Leslie challenges us to examine what we believe and to decide whether we still believe it. That is, during this season of Lent, we are to be intentional about rekindling our faith in Jesus and renewing our walk with him. It is a time to ask ourselves, has my belief in Jesus grown stronger than it was a year ago? Has it increased from when I first believed?

Lord, Transform My Wayward Heart

In preparation for Lent, Pastor Jim preaches on Psalm 51 which contains emotional words and vivid images to convey the relationship between God and the psalmist. Through this prayer, God's character shines through with mercy, love and grace as the psalmist confesses sin and reveals a broken spirit and contrite heart. In the same way, we too can approach the Throne of Grace and be made whole and new. 

Spirit-Empowered Action

In this message, Pastor Lynn admonishes the church to act in the power of the Holy Spirit. When people put their trust in Jesus, they receive the gift of the Spirit who empowers them to live a compassionate life and work for social justice. Even today, Spirit-empowered action flows from the hearts of believers who are obedient to God's commands as they are released into the greater world through prayer and fellowship with other believers.

This Ministry of Fragile Strength

In this sermon, Pastor Jim preaches about God's power being made visible in us through God's presence and work within our fragile bodies. As Jesus' humble servants, this extraordinary power is on display in order to reveal God's real presence within us and to glorify God. It is also this supernatural power of God which provides true freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
